It’s my favorite. You clean the house, prepare dinner and set a flower arrangement on the dinning table with her favorite tuberose, gardenia, and spiral ginger. Honey, what is the occasion? The reaction is the flower. Or is it? Flowers are seldom brought or sent in a vacuum with no meaning. It is more than likely that they went together with a wonderful intention – a gesture of appreciation to the host for a dinner invitation, show of love for a special date, or a show of congratulation to the pianist at her recital. Flowers aren’t just backdrop to the occasion. It adds intensity to it. So, bring some flowers for the summer picnic or barbecue, bring flower lei and balloons for a birthday or bridal shower. It’s true. It’s not just the flower; it is the people that bring the flowers and something more.
